The CR-4163 is 22-3/16" across the outside. The molding is 1-15/16" wide and protrudes 11/16" from the surface. The open space inside the ceiling ring is 18-3/16".
uDecor ceiling medallions and domes are manufactured with a dense architectural polyurethane compound (not Styrofoam) that allows it to be semi-flexible and 100% waterproof. This material is delivered pre-primed for paint. It is installed with architectural adhesive and/or finish nails. It can also be finished with caulk, spackle and your choice of paint, just like wood or MDF. A major advantage of polyurethane is that it will not expand, contract or warp over time with changes in humidity. It's safe to install in rooms with the presence of moisture like bathrooms and kitchens. This product will not encourage the growth of mold or mildew, and it will never rot.
Ceiling medallions, domes, and rings are for decorative use only and should never be used to support any type of fixture or structure. Fans and lights must be supported by the electrical box or other means.
Installing Without Damaging The Finish-
We recommend using a generous amount of construction adhesive during installation and holding the medallion in place, momentarily, while the adhesive takes effect. You can use low tack painters tape to hold the medallion in place.
Installation With a Fixture-
If you are installing the medallion with a ceiling fan, chandelier or light, make sure the power is shut off at the breaker before attempting installation. Turning off the light switch WILL NOT prevent you from being shocked. If you have any doubts call an electrician. You may need longer bolts or a longer threaded tube that came with your fixture to accommodate the thickness of the medallion. You can get these at any home improvement store.

Warranty Conditions and Limitations
This warranty covers material defects in our polyurethane products when used in standard applications where temperatures do not exceed 150°F. It does not cover labor, consequential or incidental damages. This warranty is not transferable and applies to the original purchaser only.

Unlike a car, not much can go wrong with a polyurethane product since polyurethane doesn't absorb moisture and won't be affected by insects. However, in the rare event that you do encounter a defect with your product, we're here and ready to help. Just give us a call and we'll work with you to identify the problem and, in case of defect, supply you with replacements.
