Idea #1: Be Bold with Color
Bringing color up to your ceiling is a great way to add visual interest to your room. While red is a very bold choice for the ceiling, and works quite well in this picture, it doesn't take a bold color like red to make a big difference. You can use the same color as your walls or select a color that is 1-2 shades lighter or darker.

Idea #2: Add a Medallion and Ring
Why spend hundreds, if not thousands, on a chandelier and then not accent it properly with a nice medallion? Great question, but in many homes you see just that. Adding a ceiling medallion with a ring really highlights the fixture giving you a room worth talking about.

Idea #3: Expand the Design
Notice the subtle color difference in the ceiling around the ring? In larger rooms you can expand your design to include ceiling relief ... it's a simple way to add additional interest and elegance to the room.
